Author Jack Sheffield supports York library protest
The local author, and former Yorkshire head-teacher, Jack Sheffield has declared his support for the community action to save York libraries this Saturday.
Expressing his regret at not being able to attend tomorrow due to commitments on his current book signing tour he said; “It’s a shame that I’m not able to be there as libraries are close to my heart and, but for them, I wouldn’t have been an author.”
Jack could not join us this Saturday as he is currently coming to the end of a book signing tour following the launch of School’s Out! in York last month, explaining he was unfortunately “booked to be in Waterstones SALISBURY signing books from midday onwards.”
He added his “best wishes to all the library staff, particularly those in the Archives, who have provided me with so much support over the years while doing research for my novels.”
Jack Sheffield is the author of a series of books portraying the life of a headmaster in a fictional Yorkshire village school, these include; ‘Teacher, Teacher!’, ‘Please Sir!’ as well as his newest instalment ‘School’s Out!’
