#18Oct – Save The Date!

York TUC has agreed to organise transport for activists wishing to attend the demonstration and rally on 18th October 2014 in London in support of the Britain Needs A Pay Rise campaign. We have previously organised on this issue in York with a stall on Parliament Street, and would urge as many as possible from across the city to attend. Transport will be by coach from York to Wembley Stadium and then Tube from Wembley to central London. Comfort breaks will be included.

Tickets will be available shortly on this site and we have allocated some of our limited budget to subsidising the cost of tickets for those not currently in employment – this will be operated on an honesty basis. We have applied to the TUC for financial support to try to keep the cost of seats as low as we can to enable as many as possible to attend.

If the initial coach sells out, please continue to express an interest as we can arrange a second coach if there is sufficient demand.

For further information on the campaign, see britainneedsapayrise.org.

We are also putting on an evening of entertainment involving some film and theatre one week prior to the demo on 11th October. The event will be held at Scarcroft School and tickets for this will also be available shortly from this site. It would be great to see you there!
